Visiting Bhutan and Forwarding Girls Education

Photos by Leila Foulon

Leila Foulon, our photo editor, has spent time working with a school in Bhutan to give young girls an equal education to boys. She took theses beautiful photos when she went to Bhutan last spring to see the girls graduate.

“The charity was something I started when I was eight years old. I fundraised, via bake sales and activities at my school, to build a girls dormitory in an art school that was traditionally all boys. Last spring, I went to the graduation of the first co-ED graduating class… all the girls had jobs lined up for them as soon as they were to get out!”
